Colinas Cuvée Rosé de Pinots Bairrada Reserva Rosé 2017 wins Grand Prize at Escolha do Mercado 2026

The results of the Escolha do Mercado 2026 competition, promoted by the magazine Grandes Escolhas, have now been announced, and Fladgate Family Wines stood out with three important distinctions across different categories.

The main highlight goes to Colinas Cuvée Rosé de Pinots Bairrada Reserva Rosé 2017, which won the Grand Prize in the Sparkling Wines +€20 category, reinforcing the excellence of a sparkling wine that represents the very best of Bairrada and the winemaking tradition of the Colinas house.

This recognition underlines the quality, consistency, and identity of a wine that has established itself as a benchmark in the national premium sparkling wine scene.

In addition to this top distinction, Fladgate Family Wines also saw two other wines awarded in their respective categories:

• Bella Elegance Sauvignon Blanc 2024 – Award in the White Wines €7 to €20 category
• Calcário 3 do Principal Chardonnay 2023 – Award in the White Wines +€20 category

These distinctions reflect Fladgate Family Wines ongoing commitment to excellence, the authenticity of its origins, and the valorisation of Portugal’s great terroirs.

Since 2020, Grandes Escolhas has organised what is considered the world’s largest competition for Portuguese white wines. This year, the competition expanded its scope, including rosé and sparkling wines, which strengthened its relevance in the national wine sector.
