A sixth-generation member of a family dedicated to Port wine, David Guimaraens is one of the industry’s most respected winemakers. After gaining international experience in Australia, California and Oregon, he joined The Fladgate Partnership in 1990 and has played a leading role in the production of its wines ever since.

As Technical Director & Head Winemaker, David oversees winemaking across Taylor’s, Fonseca, Croft and Fladgate Family Wines, combining generations of expertise with innovation in both the winery and the vineyard. Widely recognised for crafting exceptional Ports and pioneering sustainable viticulture in the Douro, he continues to shape some of Portugal’s most acclaimed wines.
